4 Narratives Too Common in Today’s R&B/Hip-Hop (Part 2)

The narrative’s for the past decade has changed drastically for the worst if I may be so blunt. When I listen to the radio and observe the marketing of today’s artist I can’t help but notice how the low aspects of African American life is the only view that is marketed to the mainstream.

Four narratives frequently  used in the R&B / Hip-Hop genres:

  • The Drug Dealer
  • The Pimp
  • The Thug
  • Over-Sexed Black Male
